My name is Yassmine Maioui, and I have joined the International Working Women in Finland
in 2019 via a recommendation from my friend. Since then, I have been amazed by the close
collaboration and support of the wonderful ladies’ part of the group. From my experience,
being part of this community enabled me to open my perspectives to new ways of thinking. As
a matter of fact, I learned that there are more options offered to me if I open my horizons.
Career wise, I have been offered support in many aspects including excelling in writing a cover
letter to enhancing my internship experience. I would like to highlight the constant availability
of this community always ready to help in various ways. As an international graduate student,
receiving help is as much important as my actual diploma in order to find myself and direct my
career in parallel to my interest. In this aspect, the group has supported me via indirect help (
through reading the previous experiences), but also directly as I have been offered targeted
advices specific to my situation. In addition, I would like to emphasis on the fact that the group
enabled me to find besides the working life, various activities I can enhance myself such as
volunteering work. In brief words, I am proud to observe the dedication of the Internal
Working Women in Finland for their motivation to strengthen the position of women regardless
of their ethnicity, working field, or situation.
